3-Aminoquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione is an intermediate in the synthesis of 3-aminopyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine. It can be synthesized from anthranilic acid and hydrazine. This compound is a white solid that melts at 234°C. It rearranges to form an acid hydrazide on treatment with methylamine or hydroxylamine. The melting point of 3-aminoquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione is 234°C.
