Description

3-Amino-N,N-diethylbenzenesulfonamide is an organic compound that has a chemical structure similar to that of the isothiocyanates. It is a colorless solid with a melting point of about 150 degrees Celsius. 3-Amino-N,N-diethylbenzenesulfonamide reacts with electron donors such as formic acid and anilines to produce nitro derivatives. The nitro group in this molecule can be reduced by mild oxidizing agents to form active compounds that are biologically active. The nitro group can also react with aldehydes to form nitro compounds, which are used as explosives.
