Description

2-Amino-2-phenylbutanoic acid is a diagnostic agent that can be used to identify neurological disorders. It is also used as a drug in the treatment of depression and anxiety. 2-Amino-2-phenylbutanoic acid has been shown to have neuroprotective effects, which may be due to its ability to increase the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. 2APB's mechanism of action is not yet fully understood, but it is believed that this drug interacts with hydrogen bonds between molecules and alters their shape.
