Description:

2-Anilinonicotinic acid is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). NAD is a cofactor that is involved in many cellular processes, including energy production. 2-Anilinonicotinic acid has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of prostate cancer cells and cervical cancer cells. The molecular modeling study of this molecule showed that it binds to amines, which are important for cell signaling. This compound also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential and causes significant cytotoxicity to various cancer cell lines.
