Product Information

Name:
2-Amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid methyl ester
Synonyms:
  • Benzoic acid, 2-amino-4-fluoro-, methyl ester
Description:

2-Amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid methyl ester is an oxychloride that can be absorbed through the skin and causes a covalent binding to the DNA. 2-Amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid methyl ester has been found to inhibit tetrahydrofolate synthesis by inhibiting topoisomerase II, leading to cell death. This compound also inhibits the production of anthranilic acid, which is an important precursor for the biosynthesis of many amino acids in humans. 2-Amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid methyl ester has shown cytotoxicity against human cells, but lacks any inhibitory properties against bacteria.
