Description

3-Amino-3-phenyl-1-propanol is an enantiopure chemical that is used in the manufacture of dapoxetine hydrochloride. 3-Amino-3-phenyl-1-propanol is synthesized by reacting malonic acid and fatty acid esters with a chiral amino alcohol. Impurities may be present in 3-amino-3-phenyl-1 propanol, which can be removed using a lipase. The synthesis of 3 aminopropanol has been industrialized by the use of x ray structures and reaction time to produce the desired product.
