3-Amino-4-nitrobenzonitrile is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that binds to the active site of tyrosine kinases and prevents phosphorylation of tyrosine residues. It is a member of the class of inhibitors. 3-Amino-4-nitrobenzonitrile inhibits tyrosine kinase activity at low nanomolar concentrations, which is different from other kinase inhibitors that require micromolar concentrations for inhibition. Tyrosine kinases are involved in the regulation of cell signalling pathways and protein synthesis, so 3-amino-4-nitrobenzonitrile may be useful for treating diseases such as cancer or diabetes mellitus type 2.
