Product Information

Name:
1-(2-Amino-5-bromophenyl)ethanone
Description:

1-(2-Amino-5-bromophenyl)ethanone (1-ABPE) is an inhibitor of the progesterone receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cervical cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. 1-ABPE has a significant cytotoxicity effect on human lung cancer cells. It also inhibits the proliferation of prostate cancer cells, but not normal cells, by binding to a site on the progesterone receptor that is distinct from the binding site for progesterone. This drug has shown anticancer activity against colon and breast cancer cell lines, as well as leukemia cells. It is also effective against ovarian carcinoma cell lines and colon adenocarcinoma cells that are resistant to chemotherapy drugs such as 5-fluorouracil or mitomycin C.
