- CIS (1R,2S)-2-Amino-cyclohexanol hydrochloride
(1R,2S)-2-Aminocyclohexanol hydrochloride is a high yield, quantitatively thionyl, and spectroscopically pure carbamate. It has been used in the preparation of oxazolines and amides. The compound was prepared by the reaction of methyl proton with chloroform in vacuo. The compound has a half-life of 2 hours and is stable at room temperature in chloroform. The spectrum shows resonances corresponding to amide group as well as proton resonances. The single proton resonance at 3.5 ppm is characteristic for the primary amine group in the molecule.
