Description:
2-Aminocyclopentanol is an endogenous amino acid that is present in the brain. It is a metabolite of the neurotransmitter serotonin and has been shown to have antidepressant effects. 2-Aminocyclopentanol binds with high affinity to the A2A adenosine receptor. This binding is competitive, reversible, and stereospecific. 2-Aminocyclopentanol can be used as a research tool for studying the effects of adenosine receptors, for example in studies of cardiac function or depression.
