5-Amino-2-(methylthio)pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid is a resonance-stabilizing compound that has been used in the synthesis of pyridinium salts. It is a white solid with a molecular weight of 144.14 g/mol. 5-Amino-2-(methylthio)pyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to produce carbonyl, amino, and electron spin resonance spectra. This chemical can also be used as a ligand for metal ions and an inorganic molecule in spin resonance techniques.
