Description:
4’-C-Azidouridine is a nucleoside that is used as antiviral agent. It is a prodrug form of 4-thiouridine, which is converted to the active form, 4-thiouridine triphosphate, by cellular enzymes. 4’-C-Azidouridine inhibits viral replication by inhibiting RNA synthesis and has been shown to be active against hepatitis viruses and HIV. This nucleoside can be detected in cell culture medium with an immunoassay.
