Product Information
- 2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic Acid, 4-Amino-
- Acide 4-Aminopyridine-2,6-Dicarboxylique
4-Aminopyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic hydrochloride salt is a protonated form of 4-aminopyridine that is soluble in water and has been synthesized by the reaction of anhydrous ammonia with 4-aminopyridine. It can be used as a fluorescent probe for monitoring the speciation of protons in solution. In the excited state, the fluorescence emission spectrum peaks at 543 nm, which corresponds to the emission spectrum of 4-aminopyridine. The quantum yield for this compound is 0.14%, which is significantly higher than that of other aminopyridines. This compound also has high photophysical properties with a lifetime of 1.3 ns and an excitation energy of 110 nm.
