Product Information

Name:
4-Amidinobenzoic acid
Synonyms:
  • 4-Carbamimidoyl-Benzoic Acid
Description:

4-Amidinobenzoic acid is a thrombin inhibitor that binds to the active site of thrombin, preventing the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. It has been shown to be a good candidate for use in the prevention and treatment of thrombotic events. The binding affinity of this molecule can be increased by adding benzamidine or benzylamine derivatives as ligands. 4-Amidinobenzoic acid may also have physicochemical properties that make it more suitable for oral administration than other, more hydrophobic compounds.
4-Amidinobenzoic acid is synthesized on a solid phase and purified with reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).
