It is an anti-inflammatory that belongs to the class of dimethyl fumarate drugs. The mechanism of action for 2-Amino-2-[2-[4-(heptyloxy)-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethyl]-1,3-propanediol HCl is not fully understood, but it has been shown to inhibit production of inflammatory cytokines such as chemokines.
