Description:

3-Amino-2-methyl-propionic acid hydrate (3AMP) is a metabolic intermediate that is involved in the conversion of amino acids to glucose. It is important in the diagnosis of metabolic disorders, such as hepatic steatosis. 3AMP has been shown to have potential anticancer activity and can be used as an alternative treatment for hepatic steatosis. 3AMP inhibits fatty acid synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme delta-9 desaturase and gamma-aminobutyric acid metabolism by inhibiting GABA transaminase. This drug also prevents accumulation of body mass index and urinary 3AMP levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus or obesity.
