1-Allylnaphthalene is a chemical compound that can be used as an allylating agent. It has been shown to enhance the epoxidation of anilines with dithionite, and hydrosilylation reactions. 1-Allylnaphthalene has also been shown to catalyze bond cleavage in alkylation reactions, and isomers have been obtained by preparative methods. This molecule interacts with membranes and can be used for the selective allylation of one side of a membrane only.
