Description

4-Aminosulfonylphenyl boronicacid is a cox-2 inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This drug also has high inhibitory potency against Cox-1 and Cox-2, which are enzymes involved in the production of prostaglandins. 4-Aminosulfonylphenyl boronicacid is a nucleophilic agent that can form a covalent bond with thiol groups on proteins by nucleophilic displacement. It is thought that this activity may contribute to its antitumour activity.
