Product Information
4-Amino-2-(dimethylamino)-5-pyrimidinecarbonitrile is an amidine that can be synthesized by the reaction of 4-chloro-2,6-dimethylaniline with ammonium acetate in aqueous solution. This chemical is used as a reagent for the conversion of ketones to amides and for the preparation of guanidines and aldehydes. Due to its nucleophilic properties, 4-amino-2-(dimethylamino)-5-pyrimidinecarbonitrile can be used as an efficient method for cyclizing amidines. This chemical has been shown to undergo an efficient nucleophilic attack on electron rich aromatics, leading to formation of 2-(dimethylamino)pyrimidinones.
