Product Information

Name:
Ra2-aminoheptanoicacid
Synonyms:
  • Heptanoic acid, 2-amino-, (R)-
  • (R)-2-Aminoheptanoic acid
Description:

Ra2-aminoheptanoicacid is a benzene derivative that has been shown to cause carcinogenicity in rats and mice. Ra2-aminoheptanoicacid induces apoptosis through activation of caspase-3 and inhibition of autophagy. It also binds to glycerophospholipids, such as glucosylceramide, which are found in the cell membrane. This binding may lead to lipidomic changes such as increased levels of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. Ra2-aminoheptanoicacid functions as a fatty acid by binding to phosphatidylcholine, which is an important component of the cell membrane, or by binding to phosphatidylethanolamine, which is involved in cell signaling.
