4-Amino-2-nitropyridine (4ANP) is a pyridine derivative with an amino group at the 4th position. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and ether. 4ANP has been used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of aminopyridines, which are drugs that inhibit protein synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme RNA polymerase. The chemical shift for proton H6 is 5.6 ppm and its resonance frequency is 153 MHz.
