Description:

2-Amino-3-cyano-4-methyl-5-bromopyridine is a reactive chemical that can be used in the synthesis of other compounds. It is used in cross coupling reactions to form carbon-carbon bonds. 2-Amino-3-cyano-4-methyl-5-bromopyridine reacts with tertiary amines, such as piritrexim, to form guanidine. This compound can also be used for diazotization with nitrite and chloride to form a primary amine. 2-Amino -3 -cyano -4 -methyl -5 -bromopyridine has antifolate activity and can be used as a starting material for organic chemistry. The amino group on this compound can be modified by adding a variety of groups including chlorides, bromides, nitrites, or sulfonates.
