4-Amino-3-pyridinesulfonamide is the oxidized form of 4-amino-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid. It has a hydrogen bond with the carbonyl group on the adjacent molecule and can be synthesized by reacting triethyl orthoformate with an isomeric mixture of 4-aminopyridine. The structure of this compound is centrosymmetric, meaning that it has symmetry about its center point. This compound can exist in two isomers, one being the mirror image of the other. The conformation of this compound is dimeric, which means that it consists of two identical molecules bonded together. This compound also has intramolecular bonds and supramolecular bonds with neighbouring molecules. The oxidised form contains more hydrogen bonds than the non-oxidized form because it has a higher electronegativity than its non-oxidised counterpart.
