- Benzoic Acid, 3-Amino-4-Chloro-, Hexadecyl Ester
- Hexadecyl-3-amino-4-chlorbenzolcarboxylat
3-Amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid hexadecylester is a fluorescent probe for the detection of chloride ions. The fluorescence intensity of this compound increases with increasing chloride concentration. It is also a substrate for piperidine catalysis and can be used to synthesize 3-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid in formamide. This compound has been shown to exhibit photophysical properties, such as an emission spectrum that peaks at 440 nm. An x-ray diffraction study revealed the presence of a crystalline form of 3-Amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid hexadecylester, which was rationalized by filtration experiments.
