4-Amino-3-bromophenol (4APB) is a spiroindoline derivative that has been shown to have immunosuppressive properties in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. 4APB is an immunosuppressant that inhibits the production of autoantibodies, reduces immune responses, and prevents the development of clinical symptoms in mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. The administration of this drug is able to delay or prevent clinical symptoms in mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. This compound has also been found to be potent as an inhibitor of protein synthesis and to induce cell proliferation in vitro.
