Product Information
- 4-[4-(Tert-Butyl)Phenoxy]Aniline
4-Amino-4'-tert butyl diphenylether is a synthetic inhibitor of the mitochondrial electron transfer system. It inhibits the ubiquinone reductase, which is responsible for the conversion of ubiquinones to ubiquinols in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. 4-Amino-4'-tert butyl diphenylether has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of this enzyme, and it has a strong hydrophobic interaction with other parts of the complex as well. 4-Amino-4'-tert butyl diphenylether also has an exogenous origin; it is synthesized by plants and can be found in some foods such as sunflower seeds, peanuts, and soybeans. This drug is specific for the mitochondrial complex II.
