Description

2-Aminomethyl-phenylacetic acid is a dehydrating agent that is used in the production of cyclic peptides. It is an organic solvent and is often used as a granule in chemical reactions. 2-Aminomethyl-phenylacetic acid has been shown to have potent antibacterial activity against gram negative organisms, including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This chemical also causes glutamate release from granule cells in the brain. 2-Aminomethyl-phenylacetic acid can be used as an additive to cephalothin which is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
