Description

(5-Amino-2-butyl-3-benzofuranyl)[4-[3-(dibutylamino)propoxy]phenyl]methanone is a drug that is under development for the treatment of arrhythmias. The drug has been shown to have antiarrhythmic properties in vitro and in vivo. Assays were conducted to determine purity, impurities, and alkalinity. Preparation processes were used to remove the impurities and acidify the solution. The concentration of the solution was measured using a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system. Two validated analytical methods were used to quantify chloride ion content: responsive ion electrode (RIE) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICPMS).
