Description

2-Acetyl-5-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene is a multiphase, biomolecular compound that has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties. It can be used as a pharmaceutical drug and in the production of other drugs. 2-Acetyl-5-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by catalyzing the conversion of sulfates into sulfides. This process also leads to debromination and hydrogenation of the naphthalenes. 2-Acetyl-5-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene is a white powder, with impurities such as sulfuric acid and water soluble salts, which are removed during refining.
