3-Amino-propane-1-thiol hydrochloride is a amide that reacts with hydrogen peroxide to form 3-amino-2,2-dithiobispropionitrile. This product has been shown to have revascularizing effects in the pancreas and is being studied as a radioprotectant. It can also be used to protect cellular structures from radiation damage.
