Product Information
2-Amino-3-furonitrile is a chemical compound that is a colorless liquid. It reacts with chloride to form the corresponding 2-chloro derivative, which can be used in the synthesis of dyestuffs. The reaction between amines and 2-amino-3-furonitrile leads to ring opening. This reaction has been shown to be enhanced by substituting the phenyl group for piperidine.
2-Amino-3-furonitrile can also react with peroxide to form chlorofuran, which is an inorganic acceptor. The dehydration of this molecule yields formamides, which are biomolecules found in living cells.
