Description

4-Amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester is a bifunctional ligand that can chelate metal ions. It has been synthesised and its labelling studied in the past. The biological properties of 4-Amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester have not been determined yet, but it is excreted in the urine with a biological half life of 14 hours. 4-Amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester has been shown to be an analogous ligand for peptides, and is synthesised by reacting 2,4,6-trichlorobenzenesulfonyl chloride with 3-(aminophenyl)propionic acid ethyl ester. The aromatic ring of 4-Amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester may be involved in binding to the enzymes.
