Product Information
- 5-Aminothiophene-2-Carboxylic Methyl Ester
- Methyl 5-Aminothiophene-2-Carboxylate
5-Amino-2-thiophenecarboxylic acid methyl ester (ATM) is an antibacterial drug which inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the p2y1 receptor on the bacterial cell membrane. ATM inhibits platelet aggregation, and is used for the treatment of thrombotic disorders such as myocardial infarction and stroke. This compound has also been shown to interact with chloride ions, ammonium ions, and bacteriostatic agents such as tetracycline. ATM interacts with hydrophobic regions in proteins, leading to a decrease in their activity.
