Description

3-Allylaminocarbonylphenylboronic acid is an intermediate used in the synthesis of nucleic acids. It is a boronic acid that can be prepared from 3-bromo-4-chlorobenzoyl chloride and phenylboronic acid. The compound is readily hydrolyzed by water to produce a nucleic acid and hydrogen borate. The compound has been shown to unblock phosphotriesters, which are intermediates for the synthesis of nucleic acids, by hydrolysis. 3-Allylaminocarbonylphenylboronic acid has also been shown to be an effective reagent for the preparation of ammonolysis products, such as amines and amino alcohols. In addition, this compound has been shown to have fluoride ion as one of its reactive groups, which can be used to synthesize fluorinated derivatives of nucleic acids with high selectivity.
