Description:

3-Aminophenol HCl is a sulfa drug that is used in wastewater treatment and analytical chemistry. It can be used as an indicator to determine the presence of bacteria, particularly group P2, by testing for its ability to adsorb 3-aminophenol onto the bacterial cells. This chemical can also be used to prepare samples for analysis, such as human serum or water samples. 3-Aminophenol HCl has been shown to be active against a broad range of microorganisms and can inhibit microbial metabolism. 3-Aminophenol HCl is not active against gram-positive bacteria due to its inability to penetrate their cell walls.
