5-(Acetylamino)-N,N'-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-1,3-benzenedicarboxamide is a reactive iodinated contrast agent that is used in the diagnostic imaging of body cavities and blood vessels. It can be prepared by the acetylation of 5-(acetylamino)naphthalene-2,3-diol with 2,4,6-triiodobenzene dicarboxylic acid using an alkali metal as a base.
