D,L-Alanosine is a nucleotide that can be synthetized in the body. It is a synthetic precursor to adenosine and ribose, which are important for cell metabolism. D,L-Alanosine has been shown to inhibit the growth of colorectal cancer cells and increase animal survival rates when given before tumor implantation. D,L-Alanosine inhibits the synthesis of proteins by binding to enzymes involved in DNA replication and transcription. This inhibition leads to reduced levels of ATP and protein synthesis in cancer cells.
