Albaconazole is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of fungi by binding to ergosterol, which is a component of fungal cell membranes. Albaconazole has been shown to be effective against Candida glabrata and Cryptococcus neoformans, with minimal toxicity in vivo. It also shows anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and has been shown to have minimal toxicity in humans.
