Description:
4-Amino-1-pentanol is a hexane that has been used as a solvent in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. It has also been studied for its potential use in cancer research and cancer gene therapy. 4-Amino-1-pentanol has shown anticancer activity by inhibiting the growth of lung fibroblasts and inducing apoptosis through the nucleophilic attack on DNA. In addition, 4-amino-1-pentanol has shown antiherpetic properties by binding to the herpes simplex virus (HSV) coat protein, inhibiting viral replication and preventing HSV from entering cells.
