Description:
5-Amino-2-pyrimidinecarbonitrile is a molecule with biological properties. It has been shown to be an allosteric modulator of the protease DPP-IV and to have pesticidal activity against pests such as termites. 5-Amino-2-pyrimidinecarbonitrile has also been studied in cancer, where it inhibits tumor growth by binding to DNA and inhibiting DNA synthesis. Heterojunction photovoltaic devices that use this compound can convert solar energy into electricity.
