6-Amino-4-(3-chloro-4-fluoroanilino)-3-cyano-7-ethyloxyquinoline (6AFA) is an acid ethyl ester of 6-amino-4-(3,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydroisoindolo[2,1-a]isoquinolin]-7(4H)-one. It is a synthetic compound that was developed as a potential inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. The synthesis of 6AFA is based on the reaction of 3,4,5,6,7,8,-hexahydroisoindolo[2,1a]isoquinoline and 2 chloroethylaniline in the presence of tributyltin hydride. The salt form of 6AFA is used for its activity against insects.
