Description:
(2S,3R,4E)-2-Amino-4-tetradecene-1,3-diol is a compound that has been found to inhibit cancer cells. It was originally isolated from the leaves of the tropical plant Lepidoptera cinerascens and was shown to be effective against neuronal death in vitro. (2S,3R,4E)-2-Amino-4-tetradecene-1,3-diol is also able to induce autophagy in prostate cancer cells. This compound has a chemical structure similar to fatty acid and may have an effect on viruses such as HIV.
