1-[2-Amino-5-[[imino(nitroamino)methyl]amino]-1-oxopentyl]-4-methyl-2-piperidinecarboxylic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride is an organic compound. It is a synthetic product derived from carboxylate, hydrochloric acid, piperidinecarboxylic acid, and argatroban with the use of chromatography. The reaction vessel used in this process has to be inert to the reactants. The synthesis starts by reacting ethyl formate with carboxylate and hydrochloric acid to produce a salt of piperidinecarboxylic acid. The salt is then reacted with argatroban to produce 1-[2-amino-5-[imino(nitroamino)methyl] amino]-1-oxopentyl]-4-methyl-2-piperidinecarboxylic acid ethyl ester
