N-(4-Aminobutyl)-5-chloro-1-naphthalenesulfonamide hydrochloride is a platelet aggregation inhibitor that is used as a remedy for thrombosis. It inhibits the formation of prothrombin and thrombin, which are required for blood clotting. N-(4-Aminobutyl)-5-chloro-1-naphthalenesulfonamide hydrochloride is an alkanol with a halogen group attached to an aromatic ring. The naphthalene moiety in this molecule can form naphthalenesulfonic acid when reacted with base. This compound has been shown to be effective in treating coagulation disorders caused by a deficiency of fibrinogen or other plasma proteins.
