- Cyclohexanemethanol, 4-amino-, trans-
Trans 4-aminocyclohexanemethanol is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the activity of cyclooxygenase-2, an enzyme that promotes inflammation. This drug has been shown to reduce renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate in vivo. It also reduces the production of thromboxane B2, which is a prostaglandin involved in vasoconstriction and platelet aggregation. Trans 4-aminocyclohexanemethanol inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins, which are involved in the initiation and propagation of inflammation.
