Product Information
- Methanesulfonothioic acid S-(2-aminoethyl) ester hydrochlorideMTSEA-chloride
2-Aminoethyl methanethiosulfonate hydrochloride (2AME) is a drug that can be used to inhibit the channels found in cell membranes. It is used to investigate the permeation of drugs through human skin and to study the inhibition of ion channels. 2AME inhibits heteromeric ion channels by binding to their n-terminal residues, which may lead to changes in the electrical current across the membrane. This drug also has an effect on glutamate receptors, which are involved in neurotransmission and memory formation. 2AME binds to c-terminal residues of glutamate receptors, inhibiting the function of these receptors.
