This compound can be used in the optimization of other peroxides and in the synthesis of peroxyphosphates. It is also active as a photoelectron and electron donor in microscopy techniques, such as electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, photoemission electron microscopy, or atomic force microscopy. The azide group on this molecule can be used to generate azides by reacting with chloride ions. O-(2-Aminoethyl)-O'-(2-azidoethyl)pentaethylene glycol reacts with phosphine to form phosphides. It can be used for plasma mass spectrometry and various other analytical techniques.
