- 4-Amino-4-carboxyltetrahydrothiapyran
4-Aminotetrahydro-2H-thiopyran-4-carboxylic acid (ATTA) is an analog of the naturally occurring chemotactic peptide N-formylmethionine leucylphenylalanine. ATTA has been shown to have significant activity on human neutrophils, especially at low concentrations. This compound has been shown to be a chemoattractant for neutrophils and also increases their motility. The conformation of ATTA is orthorhombic, with a statistical distribution between 4 conformational structures. Research into this compound has found that it can act as both an anion and cation and may be responsible for the observed interactions with the membrane.
