Product Information
- Aminophenylnorharman4-(9H-Pyrido[3,4-b]indol-9-yl)benzenamine
9-(4'-Aminophenyl)-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole (APB) is a redox cycling compound that can be found in various tissues of the body. It is an inhibitor of the chemical reactions that are necessary for DNA synthesis. APB has been shown to increase the incidence of bladder and testicular tumours in rats and mice. This drug also has genotoxic effects on cells grown in culture and may have carcinogenic potential. Structural analysis suggests that APB binds to amines through hydrogen bonding, which results in a redox cycle with hydrochloric acid as the electron donor and norharman as the electron acceptor.
