Description:
D-2-Aminothiazoline-4-carboxylic acid is an enantiomer that can exist in two tautomeric forms, each of which has a different chemical configuration. The zwitterion form can have either the (+) or (-) configuration. This compound has antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It also inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, but does not inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium avium complex.
